The 15 system-package cobra 2t contains sufficient material for 15 dynamic tree cabling. For the installation, only scissors are required (separately available). According to 'ZTV Baumpflege'*, cobra 2t is suitable as dynamic tree cabling for branches/stems having a diameter of up to 40 cm. The required minimum system tensile strength of 2 t is guaranteed for a full period of 12 years.

According to 'ZTV Baumpflege'*, cobra 2t can also be used without shock-absorber as a load/support cabling for branches/stems having a diameter of up to 30 cm.

Cobra 2 tonne Rope

Description:
The cobra 2t is made of polypropylene monofilaments braided into a hollow cable with a diameter of 14mm and has a tensile strength of 3.45 t. The 8-fold braiding of three yarns allows for an unproblematic insertion of expanding insert and shock-absorber. Also the manual preparation of the quick splice is very easy - without any tools. The initial tensile strength of the system is 3.0 t.
The cobra 2t cable has an ultimate ductile yield of 17 % and a service ductile yield between 3 - 9 %.
The polypropylene monofilaments are extremely resistant to environmental influences and therefore have an excellent durability - they lose 2 - 3 % of their tensile strength per year of service. That is why the cobra 2t system is extremely long-lived and can reliably protect a tree from damage for a period of 12 years.

Description:
The cobra 2t endcap is a shrink-on sleeve that shrinks under the influence of heat. In cobra systems, it is pulled over the end of the cable and shrunk-on with the help of the cobra blow torch - that gives you a clean end of the cable and a fine point for making the quick splice.


Colour:
Every year comes with a different colour and an imprint of the installation year and the type of the cobra tree cabling. That way the endcap serves to easily determine the age and type of installation during a tree inspection.
Notice: If you prefer to use tape instead of a endcap to fix the end of the cable you may pull the endcap over the cable as a signal sheet.

Insert to enlarge the contact surface of the cable on the stem for pressure reduction.


Description:
The cobra 2t/4t expanding inserts can be used in the cobra 2t and cobra 4t systems. It enlarges the contact surface of the cable on the stem thereby reducing the surface pressure under wind loads. That way, pressure damage on bark and cambium is effectively avoided and a lacing-up is prevented. The pointed ends allow for easy insertion into the cable.
The point of insertion is determined by adding 20 cm to the circumference of the branch. The length of the expanding insert to be installed should be at least 2/3 of the branch circumference - just choose the appropriate expanding insert length from cobra's range of products.

 

Cobra 2/4 tonne Anti-Abrasion Hose

Description:
The cobra 2t/4t anti-abrasion hose is a braided hose strap made of polypropylene that is pulled over the cobra cable at the anchorage point of the tree cabling. That prevents the cable from chafing on the branch while the branch is moving in the wind. That way, damage to bark and cable is avoided in a simple yet effective manner. The length of the anti-abrasion hose to be installed should be equal to the circumference of the branch and can be cut accordingly with the help of scissors.

 

Cobra 2/4 tonne Shock Absorber

Rubber insert to enhance the dynamic of the system and to reduce shock loads.


Description:
The cobra 2t/4t shock-absorber enhances the dynamic performance of cobra cables. With its help, branches swinging in opposite directions in the wind are softly slowed down and the catching shock at the end of the cushioning process is reduced by 20 % - the so called "Karate effect" does not occur anymore. That way, the cobra 2t/4t shock-absorber provides
effective protection from branch breakage.
Beyond this, it allows the cobra-cabled tree to oscillate in gentle summer breezes, which supports the diameter growth and thus the future resistance to breakage of the tree. That low-load oscillation width is about 20 cm and is provided irrespective of the cabling length - a clear advantage over dynamic systems that work with cable expansion only. The length release of the shock-absorber begins under a load of 10daN - 10kg already.
This makes a cobra cabling a hardly perceptible but highly effective breaking protection for the tree.
