ISC Rescue 8 - anodised
Description
ISC Rescue 8
The Rescue figure 8 devices have extended side bars to keep the rope in place, preventing the rope from creeping inwards and causing unwanted locking.
One of the most common uses for a figure of 8 device is to descend on a climbing line.
These are a classic abseil device, ideal for making smooth descents.
Robust design for intensive use.
To install onto your climbing line, 1st feed a bight (loop) of rope through the large eye of the figure of 8, then pass the bight over the small eye and attach your carabiner/sling.
This is the most simple use for the figure of 8.
If descending on a double rope system pass both ropes through the device instead of just the one line.
In both instances, it is recommended that you also run a prussic loop in conjunction with the figure of 8 as a backup.
