Normal plated steel Maillon Rapide
Each maillon rapide is stamped with a rated strength. The type of rating depends on the intended use: standard industrial items which make up most of the range are rated by Safe Working Load, which is one-fifth of the rated breaking strength in kilograms. A small part of the maillon range is designed and certified for use in safety systems, and is referred to as PPE (personal protective equiipment). Those products are rated by their minimum breaking strength in kilonewtons (kN). See the Specs tab for details.

Recommendation
- Keep to the working load limit WLL engraved in kg.
- Visual check of complete nut screwing compulsory; no thread must be showing.
- Maillon Rapide quick links are only to be loaded along the major axis.
- Maillon Rapide quick links should be carefully checked at regular intervals. If you are in any doubt about the safety of a quick link after checking. replace it with a new one.
